I will hold a presentation on a project called Lärandets galleria. It deals with setting up a Centre for information and learning at Stockholm University.

But first a few words about myself.

My name is Gunilla Lilie Bauer and I am the manager of the project and also head of information and ICT, one of four departments at Stockholm University Library.

I only recently started working at the University Library - about one and a half year ago. Before this I was head of the Library and Information Services at the Swedish Association of Local Authorities, where I also worked as Project Manager for a computerisation project in the early 90’s, a project involving the whole organisation.

I also have experience from several information and web projects, one of which is a web portal called SverigeDirekt, where you can reach institutions and information from the Swedish public sector.

You could say I have been working with developing the use of ICT in the library world – although not in the academic library world - for about twenty years now, always from a humanistic and user point of view. My involvement in the project Lärandets galleria is also from the user perspective.
